Facebook Follows Google Footsteps And Tracks Users To Understand Behavior

Facebook has officially announce that it will track your web-browsing data on Facebook. The company has found new intrusive ways to exploit your personal information from outside the network for targeted advertising. The company will now use information from your web browsing history to target and serve more relevant ads.

Facebook follows Google footsteps and is allowing users to see why they are being shown certain ads and Facebook wants to leverage its understanding of your user behavior to serve you more advertisement targeting. The company has portrayed the changes in a more positive light for advertisers, by collecting data to help target advertising better.

It is using your likes and posts on Facebook to target ads to you already. It will track you across any website you visit, digg into your cookies, data sent from websites and stored in a user's browser to help record their browsing activity, as long as the site has a like button, a Facebook login, or any Facebook code. It will also track your reading habits, whether you are logged in or not or click on the LIKE button on the site.

Acxiom and Datalogix, the big data brokers, manages the raw data to develop profiles of users, which are then provided to advertisers.

This can gain a tremendous success for Facebook, as Google earned US $ 13 billion off of data-based targeting, then Facebook might gain a huge success in this growing market.

Brainguru Technologies, the leading SEO Company in Noida, is looking forward to see that the Facebook will be able to boost the effectiveness and control over ads for advertisers and help target ad vertising better.

  1. This is a very nice step of facebook to manage a data bank for it's analytics works but occurs a higher risk from FB users because, It's may be that mind will change about to their personal data confidentiality and they feel unsecured from FB. I'm not saying that it is bad and reason for any tense because I have already seen same thing from google and now time for facebook. Here I would like to say one thing that it's great to announce this tracking algo and not keep under dark from our process...it's fair and wonder for FB users. Hope FB can do more better in advertising world.
